Fellow Sirs

Please share the following information with any members who have been using the State Zoom accounts.

Because the SIR Foundation has ceased operations, the 10 licensed Zoom accounts are no longer available to us. This means

all existing Zoom reservations will be canceled on Saturday, 20 April 2024.

You should move any meeting times you have reserved after this date to our new accounts manually as there's no automatic mechanism to do this for you.

The SIR Inc Board has agreed to purchase 2 new Zoom Pro accounts. These accounts allow up to 100 users at each meeting, and each meeting can run for up to 30 hrs. These licenses will be renewed annually provided the need exists for them (hint: use them or lose them!)

I have set up the first active account which is available starting April 18. The second account is giving me problems and I'm working with the Zoom Help Desk to resolve the issues.

To use the first account:
Login as me, using the email address: derek.southern@yahoo.com
and use the (previous) password. JSaMF4L!

As soon as the 2nd account problem is resolved I'll provide the login information. Until then use the 1st account, but don't set up any recurring meetings until account #2 is open for business.

Because we will now have only 2 accounts, all users must follow some simple guidelines:

  1. When you reserve a meeting, always go to ZOOM.US rather than the Zoom app on your computer. This is so you can see other bookings more clearly and avoid overlapping with other meetings.
  2. State meetings have priority for account #1.
  3. For Branch meetings, start your reservation on account #2. If the time you want isn't available, then try #1
  4. When reserving a meeting please include your name and contact information under 'Add Description' so anyone wanting to book a meeting, either before or after yours, knows who to contact to avoid meeting clashes. It will help if you are accurate about meeting Start and Finish times!
  5. As most Board meetings are held on Thursdays, please do not book 'Recurring meetings' on account #1 on those days.

When you log in to these 2 new accounts, Zoom may ask you to sign into the email account for that license to retrieve a confirmation code. Let me know if this happens and I'll work with Zoom to change the login rules.

Happy Zooming
